Trust Me I Know

Death, ever tried explaining the experience
Putting daily undertakings into wordily expression
Those sharp pangs of pain
Those constant nostalgia spurred memories
Longing, that constitutes life as you come to know it
The tears you struggle to keep at bay
As they launch a frontal assault in a quest to break free
Down the path they have grown so accustomed to
Never can words fathom the loneliness you feel
They say they understand,
alas fit into those shoes only you can
No matter how hard reach out you try
Trust Me I Know!

Death surely does that
It changes you from the inside to the out
A stranger to self you are rendered
Ever embarking on a path of retracing a new identity
Drastic changes in life partake of you do
That feeling of longing die down it never does
Stronger it continues to grow
In a state of ponder left to wonder
Would situations be any different
Where they to be around
Questions flood in abundance
At some point a state of exhaustion you reach
Physically, Emotionally, Mentally and Spiritually,
just tired you are
Overwhelmed and overburdened,
Tap out, better an option it seems
Let life continue with one less passenger on board
Trust Me I Know!

There is something about losing a loved one
It changes you, in more ways than one
A new set of bifocal lenses you adorn
Vividly new perspective you adopt
When it is time to love, you love
The special people in life
An outburst of affection you outpour
Anger quick to part with
Out with the negative in with the positive
Of life you learn to appreciate, Carpe Diem
Who to put your trust in, all of it
Finally, you now know
In those weak moments, your strength
The one who understands more than anyone else
Comforting you without any notice
All my try but only God can

What if

What if...?

What if we all could turn back the hands of time, go back to that exact moment
What would we do differently, would the outcome remain the same,
Would we still choose the same path or chart a new course we would opt?
What if your fears and dreams existed in the same place, would you still go there? dare to be bold or retreat to your comfort zone?
What if we all had dreams, choose to wake up and follow them, would we wallow in mediocrity as we often do, or innovation would be our staple food?
What if our late loved ones were here would better of our position not be, would our hearts suffer the way they do
What if dollars of millions I had, would a smile constantly be on my face, life made easier would it?
Would I use them to pursue self-pleasure or bless me they would to become a blessing to others?
What if things were different where would I be, what would I be doing, would I be happier, would my position be any better?
What if we all had a third chance would we repeat the same mistake or rather learn, grow, appreciate and value?
What if we had a chance to forgive, would we choose to hold on to grudges, or forgive and let go, usher in peace into our lives?
What if you knew, that person you took for granted was the one who really unconditionally cared and the one you thought was the one, only partially cared?
What if that person you always looked down upon, you realized one day, has talents of their own, fearfully and wonderfully made they are, just like you, would you look at them in the same way?
What if we all could get along, embrace difference and be tolerant, wouldn’t the world be a better place?
What if you chose to smile in the midst of suffering, rather than with worry wine and dine, would you not live a better life?
What if you knew, the blessings in your life you take for granted, how others long for them, gratitude as your attitude would you not embrace?
What if you knew HE does exist, talk about chance would you, or rather realize, it’s by HIS working all the time?
If we all knew, would we not see life through a different pair of lenses
Always appreciating what we have, CARPE DIEM, ceasing the day, as change is the only thing constant in life.
What if...

No man is an island

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

So sometime in July I had the privilege of going to Zambia for the first time and seeing the falls from the Zambian side and I must say it was a wonderful experience to say the least. Also got to meet up with good old friends from Zambia, we had the privilege of them giving us a guided tour of the rain forest. By now you might be wondering why does me having to go to Zambia and the title of my piece have to do with each other do not despair for all shall soon be revealed.Among the things I enjoyed about going to Zambia was going to the boiling pot a magnificent spectacle it is and I was in awe as I got up close and personal with the mighty Zambezi. My focus now takes a turn from being that of a travel destination adviser to focusing on the hike I had down to the boiling pot in the good hands of a dear friend. The hike down to the boiling pot is a rather dangerous one, since the terrain is treacherous due to its steepness. So my friend saw that I was a bit uneasy and being herself grabbed a hold of my hand and she guided me along the path telling me were to be more cautious until we got to the pot.The rest of the team we were with was following behind rather taking in the view well I on the other hand was in a rush to get to the boiling to dwell at the spectacle that I heard so much about. So as we trudged along the pathway I would slip and my friend would provide me with support so that I would not fall. The patriarchal nature of most of our societies has told us that the roles should have been reversed and I should have been the night in shining armor holding the ladies hand and guiding her all the way,but the trick lies in that I had never walked this path before and my friend had had this hike numerous occasions so she was the most qualified person for the job.The moral lesson here lies in that ladies and gentleman no man is an island and we all need help no matter how strong and courageous you are or you think you are,at some point in time you will fall short and when that time comes do not be too proud to ask for help, when in need because failure to ask for help might result in you landing you landing yourself in a rather sticky situation. So ladies and gentleman we all need a helping hand and if you look for it you will find it and grab it and when it looks for you do not turn a blind eye take a hold of it.

Yours

The periodic table of elements

PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS
Friendship is like the
Periodic table of elements
When they are alone they are stable
But they can't exist into their fullest
In their solitude
That is why they have to bond with others
In the bonding process many combinations we try
Some work out nicely others not as well
Some still remain unstable compounds
Highlighting the weakness in them
While others get to become stable compounds
Ever so comfortable were they are
Same goes with friendship
There is the not so stable friendship
Also known as the transitional friendship
It comes into fruition as a result of circumstances
When circumstances no longer permit
You find that you are unable to kip them
Even though you try hard to keep holding on
You find yourself slowly losing your  grip on it
And then you just can't help but let go
Cause a reason to hold is no longer in existence
Then there is the stable compound
Type of friendship it is like water
It is so stable that even though
It may face the most turbulent of times
Those trials and tribulations
Serve to make it even stronger
Even when separation comes
And introduces distance in its midst
It still grows stronger and stronger
Cause absence reinforces it
Even though we may be asander
That is what I wish for our friendship to be like
Even though we maybe miles apart
Let it not slowly disintegrate
Even though ups and downs may rock us
Our quota of disagreements being there
Let us never stop caring
Cause good friendships are rare gems
Ever so difficult to find
So boldly declare I will
That about you I care
Loving the moments we share
I don't want to miss the water
When the well runs dry
So let it dry I shant and wont
Here is me hoping our friendship will forever be
A  stable compound.
